Camels like prisoners of a future prison, with electronic bracelets on their legs. But in the desert, the eye gets used to seeing nothing but the desert itself. It’s no coincidence that Old Testament exiles and wanderings took place in these conditions and on this land. And because of this, these animals appear even more majestic.

I took this shot in the UAE desert, just as the camel driver appeared over the dune—like a scene straight out of a film. It was my birthday. Meeting him felt like a memory from another world.
